Traditional sauce for Idrija žlikrofi
In Idrija, where silver was mined from the earth for centuries, something just as precious was simmering in home kitchens. Bákalca was the meal of miners and ordinary people. Today, it is a symbol of heritage. Bákalca is not modern. It is something better: authentic. And that is enough.
Ingredients: Lamb, onion, carrot, water, salt, peppercorns, thyme, savory, bay leaf, sunflower oil, light roux (WHEAT flour, sunflower oil).
May contain traces of eggs, soy, celery, sesame seeds, milk (lactose), nuts, and mustard.
